How to do septic tank maintenance?
Septic tank maintenance has the following key points, including:
- Inspect the septic tank system and measure the depth of sludge at least once every 6 months. More frequent inspection and desludging might be necessary for heavily used
- Inspect the septic tank system immediately if there is any overflow from it, foul smell becomes more noticeable, your toilet doesn’t flush properly or your sink doesn’t drain properly.
- Desludge the septic tank system whenever the thickness of sludge exceeds 30 cm or 1/4 of overall water depth
- Inspect if there is any defect in your drainage system or septic tank system after each desludging
